Alternative Testing Site (ATS)

Information regarding the
Center for Disability Services/SNAP Alternative Testing Site (ATS)
Lightsey Center, Suite 104
(same building as CofC Bookstore)

ATS is an essential service when assessments are given in-class and a specific student or students need additional time and/or separate space to complete the assessment. If faculty are instead administering an online assessment via OAKS or other online platform, and students do need to go to the classroom to complete it, ATS is not necessary. In those cases, faculty can adjust the time allotted for the individual student, and the student is responsible for finding an appropriate testing space.

In consideration of the American College Health Association (ACHA) guidelines published May 25, 2021, testing for Fall 2021 will continue to be scheduled in blocks (as they were during the 2020-2021 academic year):

Monday, Wednesday, Friday:  8:30 am, 11:00am, and 2:00pm
Tuesday, Thursday:  8:30am, 11:30am, and 2:30pm

All requests must be scheduled by the student at least one week (5 business days) in advance. Example:  If you have a test on Wednesday, October 6, you must submit an ATS testing form on or before Wednesday, September 29. For more information and to access the ATS form, access ATS Sign-Up Process.

Students should schedule their test(s) on the same day and at a time closest to the scheduled class (if possible) unless there is an academic-related scheduling conflict. If an academic-related scheduling conflict exists, students are expected to discuss this with their faculty member prior to scheduling a test with ATS.
