SNAP Application Process
The following documents are needed to apply for SNAP Services:
- SNAP Application form (pdf)
- SNAP Application Checklist (pdf)
- One copy of psychoeducational assessment or medical documentation that meets the criteria required by the College of Charleston
- Use the Request Letter for Math and Language Alternatives if you are requesting alternatives to the foreign language and/or math/logic requirement
Once the complete application packet is turned in, a SNAP administrator evaluates the completeness of the application and supporting documentation and makes a recommendation of SNAP approval or denial. A letter of approval or denial will be e-mailed to your College of Charleston email account approximately one week to ten days from receipt of your application packet. Included within this e-mail are the Student's Guide to SNAP Services and a set of forms to be completed by the student. Reasonable accommodations will be provided once the completed forms have been returned to SNAP. Students applying for alternative courses will receive an additional e-mail one to two weeks after the initial approval e-mail notifying them of their alternative status. If denied, you may appeal to the Director of the Center for Disability Services.
