Center for Disability Services / SNAP


If you are an incoming first-year or new transfer student who has connected with CDS/SNAP, please plan to attend Navigating CofC - Learn about CDS/SNAP, which will be held on Monday, August 21 from 4:15-5:30PM in Lightsey Center, suite 104. 

At this workshop you'll have the opportunity to:

-       Become acquainted with the services/supports offered through the Center for Disability Services/SNAP.

-       Consider the best approach that will allow you to start the semester off successfully.

-       Review the various accommodations you might utilize and how to have a conversation with your professors about it.

Let us know if you'll be attending the workshop by completing Navigating CofC form or by emailing us at with your name and student ID#.

The Center for Disability Services is dedicated to
  • Ensuring that all programs and services of the College of Charleston are accessible;
  • Providing reasonable and effective accommodations while promoting independence in the student;
  • Offering educational opportunities to students, faculty and staff that enhance understanding of the various types of disabilities, promoting an environment respectful of all;

What is SNAP? (Students Needing Access Parity)
  • Provides assistance and guidance to students with a documented disability to ensure equal access to all programs and services of the College;
  • SNAP / Center for Disability Services is located in the Lightsey Center, Suite 104;
  • 900 students in the SNAP program of the 11,000 enrolled students at the College of Charleston;
